Fellowship – Dr. JV Srinivas

It was a privilege and experience of a lifetime during my fellowship with Dr.J V Srinivasin Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road Bangalore.

My Fellowship started on February 2018, I was warmly welcomed by Dr.J V Srinivas and his team to the hospital. Fortis Hospital is well equiped with state of art facility and Orthopedic department provides care for various sub speciality like Arthroplasty, Spine, Arthroscopy, Paediatric cases and Trauma. Hospital has around 10 Operation theatre, Dr. J V Srinivas does around 4 to 10 arthroplasty cases per day.

I had the opportunity to assist him in all his arthroplasty cases – 230 cases in 6 months. I was also very lucky to assist him in many complex primary knee, Revision Knee and Complex hip arthroplasties and was awestruck by his passion and skill in handling such complex cases with so much ease. Some of the cases include TKR in malunited proximal tibia fracture, Supracondylar fracture,Nonunionintercondylar fracture, Valgus with Recurvatum,Severe Varus, Failed Revision TKR, proximal tibia and distal femoral deficiencies, Failed Revision THR etc. I also had the opportunity to see different types of implants from differentcompany.

I was involved in many discussions of technical aspects of arthroplasty during surgeries, Rounds and in clinics and learnt many tips on the same. The on table discussions with Dr.J V Srinivas on surgeries and in general about life are the experiences and memories which I would cherish and follow throughout.

Dr.J V Srinivas is a very honest, passionate and skillfull surgeon who can handle any case with ease.His hardworking nature and ability to perform all surgeries with bundle of energy throughout the day is an inspiration.

I am very happy and lucky to have got training under him, getting exposed to such volume of cases within short period of time, don’t think I could have gotten anywhere else.
